Epi 23: Monkey See, Monkey Do

Continuing the Immunity Challenge, things were pretty even for both sides until Moi (who went against Jon) couldn’t get through the ropes, fell down twice & had to tag Ian to continue. Seeing her failure caused Ian’s determination to fizzle & he sort of gave up inside. He regretted the choice of Mico for the puzzle task thinking belatedly that he could have been better at the ropes compared to Piolo’s sidekick. Aira was still in the fight, though. Her limberness was a great asset here as she slowly but surely traversed the ropes, making up a little of the lost time. Solenn & Karen were both impressed.

Sar Mayee’s stronger male component was a key factor in the speed in which they took the puzzle pieces. Jon cruised by in getting the final bag. In Nagar, it was Moi’s turn again. Aira was asking for her to just jump down and tag another so as not to waste any more time. However, Moi was still trying to go at it. Eventually, she gave up. The yellow tribe was already forming the puzzle. Ian’s performance was dismal. Aaron was visibly disappointed. Aira went again. Michelle, Aubrey & Trizsa were having problems with the puzzle but actually Aubrey was purposely being slow. If one was to analyze this, the effect this mild sabotage has on the solving time has direct reflection on the mental prowess of Trizsa & Michelle. Aubrey’s intention is to help her old tribe mates & ensure that she still has their alliance come merge time.

While the Sexy Mama is trying to slow down Sar Mayee’s win, Aira got the 3rd to the last bag. Aaron had trouble getting 2nd to the last but eventually got it. Moi finally decided this time to just jump down to tag Ian. Ian’s heart already isn’t in the challenge since the first round so he wasn’t really trying so hard and he figured it’s too early in the game to mess up his pretty hands. Aira went again, but she fell down just before the edge. Knowing she doesn’t have enough strength for another go, she tagged Aaron who got the final puzzle piece.

Karen, Solenn & Mico scrambled to solve the puzzle for Nagar. This put extra pressure now on Sar Mayee which prompted Jon to butt in from afar. Trizsa said Jon was just causing unnecessary stress & tension. Sar Mayee won eventually. Whether Jon contributed to that or not, it was hard to tell, but had they delayed for 20 seconds more, Nagar could have beaten them. Jon would have been really disappointed if they lost. “It was meant for us.” said Aubrey, despite her tactics. Even though Nagar lost, Karen still felt pride for her new tribe.

Back at their camp, Sar Mayee, with Jon leading, continued with the shelter building. Meanwhile, Michelle started to work on Trizsa to get him against Aubrey. This wasn’t a difficult task since Trisza was in the outs with everyone in his old tribe anyway. Michelle kept emphasizing that Aubrey was targeting her & Jon from the very start, but she will be the first one as Jon still have an Immunity Bracelet to use when needed. So much for Aubrey’s olive branch. Ervic & Aki solidified their alliance while foraging for clams. While they loosely included Aubrey, Ervic wants to ensure that their bromance was stronger in this threesome.
