Again, Nice Guys Finish...First!

by Rev

In a three-way battle pitting the Mr. Nice Guy vs The Power Player vs Diwata ng Isla, Akihiro Sato emerged as the 1st Survivor Philippines Celebrity Sole Survivor. Along with bestowing to him the immunity bracelet for this feat, he was awarded a cool three million pesos. It was a photo finish-come from behind win for the Brazilian-Japanese in a 3-2-2 voting from the seven jury members.

7th Jury Member Re-Vote

Flash back to Thailand. The final four and jury members voted for the the 7th jury member. Richard took the votes and brought it back to Manila.

Its now December 3, 2010 in a GMA studio. In front of a live audience, Richard read the ballots and we witness Akihiro and Aubrey tie with three votes each (the rest of the votes being split by Solenn and Ervic. A re-vote is done but only Akihiro and Aubrey will fight out for the 7th jury position (giving Solenn and Ervic the first two slots at the final 3).

Akihiro edged out Aubrey in the re-vote literally snuffing out her torch and was then installed as the 7th jury member.

Final Plea From the Love Ones

The final three got their last chance to state their case for the three million pesos and the title of celebrity sole survivor. But it wasn't a personal appeal but a plea from their love ones and friends. Solenn's father, Aki's pinoy friend, and Ervic's mom explained why their castaway deserved to win.

Split Decision

In the final live voting, each of the jury members cast their vote and explained why he/she chose the castaway to be the celebrity sole survivor. In the tense filled vote counting, Akihiro narrowly won with only three votes while Solenn and Ervic again split the remaining votes (they each got two). Akihiro now joins the elite club of nice guy winners which include JC Tiuseco and Amanda Van Cooley. Who said Nice Guys finish last? Not on SP.

Our Own True Survivors

Our heart felt thanks to Emsie for giving the Dotcomers the opportunity to watch not only one but two live voting events. ;) Sobra-sobra din ang accommodation para ang ilang fans ma meet and greet ang kanilang fave castaway.

To Anak Ng Tinapa (ANT) for the wicked "Dotcomer" tribal flag. Wished that I could have raised it better while we were going inside the studio. "Dotcomers! Lapit!" :)

To Tribo for also an incredible final four streamer. Like ANT, you stayed up all night and it really paid off.

Finally to all the dotcomers who have been with us all this time. Patuloy natin ito sa season 4.

WE WANT MORE! SEASON 4!

Epi 68: The Road To Final 4

This episode has taken a look at how each of the top 4 arrived at their respective positions. In a nutshell, these were their strategies:

Aubrey: Made "pakikisama" her strongest suit, not only building a strong alliance but also, befriending others to avoid being a target.

Akihiro: He didn't really have a specific plan, wanting just to enjoy the experience. His nice-guy attitude and his alliance downplayed his obvious physical strength, avoiding the "threat" image.

Ervic: His early strategy was to to be invisible so as not to draw attention to his physical strength. Instead, he built a strong alliance to one he trusted the most and started showing off his prowess in later challenges.

Solenn: Quiet but alurring, this half-French, half-Pinay showed that she can take on the hardships of life in Survivor. She wasn't fussy and was very cooperative. She flew from alliance to alliance to get herself farther in the game.

How do you find their game play? Do you feel any of them played dirty? If so, in what way?
