Apparently, the quitting didn’t end with Jackie & Angelicopter. Ellen & Filo also decided to join Quitter’s Tribe. The official reason was Filo did not feel safe on the island anymore and only joined because of girlfriend Ellen. Ellen places a higher value on her relationship with him compared to the game. It sounded so good and righteous but methinks having to endure more of Mamabel’s multiple-personality disorder has played a big part in the decision, especially Ellen, since her girl group is pretty much obliterated. If they only knew that it was Mamabel’s plan to disrupt Tala as much as she can. Well now they do. It could be safe to say that Miss High Profile actress was just as surprised by her success. She was so amused at how her new tribe mates looked at her as a cancer. “Isang salot!” she gleefully cackled.
Day 6, 5 quitters, enough to form a third tribe. That has got to be a record in the entire Survivor franchise. And to make the recent events even more interesting, typhoon Pedring graced them with his presence. Both tribes were moved to base camp for their safety, but the accommodations are still spartan, in keeping with the concept of the game. Stef’s tocino-back was attended to by the medics. But despite her injury, she still brought her game in strategies. She knew the others would loathe to lose Gino and they were a package, so she felt safe. And speaking of bringing their game, KC is willing to eat poop, if it means winning. Go KC! Tell us how it tastes when you do.
In the Tala tribe, everyone was still untrusting of Mamabel. Noting how she can still communicate privately with Mara by speaking in Japanese. Anak ng tempura! Amazing Betong also warned his tribe mates to guard the IB (they have one?) because she was quite skilled in stashing things away, suspecting Mamabel had an entire fastfood chain hidden in her bag. Isabel is unsure whether she really had an IB, so I’m guessing the IB hasn’t left Mamabel’s privates all this time.
The two tribes got a visit from guest celebs Annabel & Ruffa who then announced what the next challenge would be: Surviving The Gutierrezes. Oops, actually it’s a showbiz performance challenge. When the two tribes met on the stage, Bulan was shocked to find 4 CA’s not voted out but outright quit the game. Utterly disgusted (like many viewers), KC ranted “I don’t know why people joined this just to quit. It’s a waste of everybody’s time.” But back to the challenge: so again, they are playing for food, glorious food. Suddenly, the stage floor was thoroughly wet with the CAs’ saliva. But wait, there’s more! Included in the prize are three egg-laying chickens. KC was contemplating on how great it would be to wake up with eggs for breakfast. “Eggs, eggs, eggs. Awesome.”
Before the performances were to begin, in came the judges. Ruffa was resplendent in an early Christmas (or late Valentine, take your pick) outfit. Annabel wanted to dress fit for the occasion so she chose a sequined zebra-print blouse. Lastly local kids gathered. The Tala folks were very confident about their chances, not seeing the Volcano dudes as serious performer contenders. We’ll find out next episode which tribe gets the eggs & hotdogs.
