The 100K Shower

Posted by Anak ng Tinapa

The Three King’s plan of winning reward challenges hit a snag in the form of Arn-Arn (not the puppet). He finished all three legs of the ring relay with a very wide margin against the rest of Bulan. While Maey revelled in the fact that she was “kulelat” in the first leg, it mattered not in the digging portion. Everyone had a hard time finding the rings of victory. It was good that they were digging in different locations, so no paddle-bashing occurred this time. However, just like in scooping balls, digging with those paddles is a b!tch. Soon, Retzard relaxed the rules and allowed the castaways to use their hands. Was it to avoid people fainting due to exhaustion, or was it so he can get out of the drizzle? Back to Arnie... He got the required three rings first and ran to the hook-shoot leg. Seeing it was the Volcano Terminator in the final leg, Bulan’s royalty relaxed their efforts, partly because it was really hard to catch up, (no matter what Retzard says) and partly because it was Arn-Arn who would win. Had it been Carlo (or any original Tala) there, they would probably have continued to dig furiously. In the case of Betong, no matter how amazingly helpful his tummy bulge was to him in the digging, no matter how skilful his tushy twisting motion was in capturing the tossed ring, he had no luck with any additional rings.

When the temptation reward was announced, Arnie asked to be the one to face it. He was made to choose between 100K or allowing his tribe mates the shower prize. While Tala was enjoying the coffee part of the reward, he refused the money. He wanted pogi points with his tribe and that’s what he got. This was twice he refused money. Clearly, he was working towards the end game. When he related the temptation to the rest of Tala, they tried to tell him to take the money as the shower was not that big of a deal for them. People can be generous when they have something in their belly and the coffee definitely gave them a buzz. However, Arnie stood pat on his decision, thus getting what he wanted, goodwill. Oh, how Christmassy! And the audience got their reward as well, in the form of the slo-mo shower scene.

Retzard also announced that some “imports” will be joining them for a short while: Aki & Jon of the previous season. Tala, being the winner, got to pick first and it was Jon. The “reason” was that Aki was too gorgeous and would only be a distraction with the ladies. Maey will have to make do with trying to get her hands on Jon instead. Upon hearing that excuse, Jon was a bit “insulted” and claimed he can be as much a distraction himself. But really, Jon was the better competitor, why he was chosen. Tala was just letting Aki down gently, since he is Mr. Nice Guy himself.

Tomorrow, maybe we’ll see if Tala made the right choice.

based on the teaser, i think the 3 kings decided to stick to their plan to deliberately drop the game in order to vote out one more tala. that move will def give them a huge advantage in numbers come merge time. what a clever and brilliant idea. Bulan surely knows how to play the game.

Paliguan mo na lang ako ng 100k.
carlo seemed more focused in his new tribe than realizing that the old Bulan already has advantage in numbers. He doesn't want to lose any challenge after having a star player in arn-arn. Lack of a long term plan will make the old Tala an endangered species. :)

reviewer22 is right, daily survival and challenges lang ang iniisip ni Carlo.
