Someone said this would be a "bonggang bonggang" tribal council. It was in a lot of ways. Carlo was "crushed" the second time around by Arnold but not with a wooden ball but with a vicious blindside. But before we go any further, congrats to one dotcomer who called it right even before the episode started. You're the Madame Auring of your generation or just a very good observer of the game.
Kudos to the old Bulan (Mara and Arnold) for setting up the blindside. Carlo never saw it coming and was hoping to have Arnold as another BFF. Old Tala thought that operation "Putting the Snake-Bitten Girl (Steff) To Sleep" was going as planned. The moment was unbelievable for the Old Tala when Arnold gave the immunity bracelet (IB) to Steff and Old Bulan advised her to use it. Old Tala was like a deer seeing the headlights of a car: shocked at the impending disaster that would hit them.
I stand by what I said that the blindside was vicious. The Old Tala trusted Arnold too much that Carlo, Chuckie, and Maey were convinced that Steff was the weak link in the tribe. The IB that Arnold had was never an issue since people thought Arnie would save this for himself. But who would pass on an opportunity to take out one threat like Carlo? Maybe Carlo "wished upon a star" that Arnold was going to turn his back on the Old Bulan and be part of Tala? Arnie really sold the idea that they were a new tribe and when Old Tala least expected, they got a rude awakening that this is still a game in which you need to outplay, outwit, and outlast.
Mara may have had some sort of revenge because they outwit the "brains" behind her mother's exit in the game. Arnold may had some satisfaction in cutting the "dragon's head" and can now claim the leader role in Tala. Maybe he can now have the monicker of "dragon slayer" like Coach of Survivor South Pacific/Heroes vs. Villains/Toncantins. Steff would probably get over the fact that she was the least trusted by her "alliance". But I think it was good that she wasn't told because she was already in the "OMG! I'm gonna be voted out" mode and the Old Tala believed it too.
If its any consolation to the Old Tala, the Old Bulan wasn't gloating over outwitting Carlo with a blindside. Arnold claimed it was a difficult decision choosing Carlo over Steff. But Arnie was a competitor from the very start and it really looked like a no brainer when you have the power of the IB and the trust of your opponents. It was the "game changer" that Arnold was hoping to happen and when it came, BOOM! Mara still doesn't like Steff but they still needed the numbers going to the merge.
I like how Maey took the whole thing in stride. She never took the blindside personally. She even tried to console Chuckie when he felt betrayed by Arnold. But shed did caution that you can no longer just trust anyone who is playing the game.
Sadly for Carlo, "isang tulog na lang" and the merge was about to happen. He exited the game and probably with the "anting-anting" that was supposed to be used to protect the Old Tala when the merge happened. The situation looks bleak for the Old Tala since Old Bulan out numbers them. Without any IB or anting-anting, they can be easily be picked off one by one.
But that doesn't mean they shouldn't enjoy the feast and entertainment the generous Richard provided for the merged tribe. What would be their new name? Bulan would shoot down Bakunawa. Maybe to continue with the constellation theme..."Bulalakaw"? "Haring Araw"?
Again, Merge Madness is just around the corner. Will individual games be visible this early or will old tribal lines prevail? Abangan.

I pity the Tala members who quit / were voted off . Nag-iingay sila sa Twitter because they want to project that they're losing is not really losing. Mahirap talaga pag artista, laging nagpapabango!
Do you guys think Mara is a free rider? I think not. The mere fact that she took an IB and sent her mom to the lion's den proves that she's also a strategist.
Carlo is the free-rider here IMO. Nakatikim lang ng mga panalo since makasama si Arnold sa tribe, kinalimutan na sina Arthur na nasa Bulan (anting-anting!). I think he's making efforts to get Arnold's alliance because Arnold seems to win most challenges hahaha

That was a well-played strategy whether they like it or not. Carlo is a big threat. He's a strong player. The original Bulan wanted to stick together and to do that they have to take out the Tala members who are the strongest. That's how survivor is played. If you are singled out to be the strongest, you better do everything you can to get that immunity bracelet. Otherwise, you are dead meat.
If they are successful at being top 6 (all orginal Bulan), the game should get really interesting once they start forming all new alliances.

Ah, I wish the kudos were deserved. I knew Stef would stay. I had it down to the two C's. But I didn't watch Eat Bulaga, where a preview made by some really "smart" people gave such BLATANT spoiler clues.

I hate mara and arnold..gosh..I really thought they are good person..they blind sided carlo..I love carlo pa naman..but still there is chuckie and maey..I wish sila and winner...
a well executed game plan by arnold. now that is how you play the game. I don't believe that this was just a spur of the moment change of plan for arnold. otherwise, mara and arnold should have written the name of stef during the voting. Anyway, I'm rooting for tala maybe because they are the underdogs. I don't know why we always love the undordog. Maybe because from watching too much telenovelas and how we were brainwashed by the idea that "ang mga bida, nagaagulpi muna sa umpisa " but in the end of story they live happily ever after. but then again, this is Survivor. Again, Job well done Arnie. peace y'all.

im sick and tired of these fans who would regard Carlo as the Castaway with a HALO . had he also considered when they all at rage voting out mamabel?

carlo got no brains. He should have let bulan win in the first immunity challenge after the tribal shuffle. In that way, tala could have just vote out either mara or arnie easily since stef wasnt still around. Kaso pabilib tong carlo na to. Swapang pa. Di man lang binigyan ng anting anting si arthur. Buti nga!
maey and carlo's reactions were rad. especially chuckie who laid his tala cards to arnold but eventually he lost the ace. it was a brillant calculation done by arnold and mara,but the riskiest that i have seen yet in any SP season. because i remember maey and chuckie's discussion of turning over their trust to mara and arnold.
arnold handing over the IB was a WTF moment really. i was amazed at the same time. i saw a Yul and Betty reincarnate duo last night ,gleaming right before Tala's pissed off eyes.
was it a smart move for retaining Stef instead of carlo? Yes. because arnold proven how gullible carlo is to change his alliances. if he continued, he would resort to choose between the old tala and bulan . most likely he would stick to bulan because of arnold's IB.
that is what you call a SURVIVOR GAME .
i understand fans sentiment over Carlo's being voted out. but i wonder how was it if it was Stef instead. RIOT ito!

i will not watch this show anymore now that Carlo is out of the game. it is his fault anyway, he just go so comfortable with Arnold which i couldn't for the life of me understand. the only decent people left there is Betong, Maey and Arthur but the Bulan Origs will not waste time in voting them all out. as for Arnold, well he is the biggest threat so he will earn his bad karma, guaranteed
Yes, i too remember a poster predicted who would possibly be voted out and doesn't think it would be Stef. Kudos to his/her analysis. And of course so happy that Bulan emerges as majority castaways in the Merge. Looking forward for their next strategy. Go Old Bulan!

having watched thursday's epi tonight, i was kinda sad that stef didn't realize that what arnold did was for her to stay in the game and give bulan an advantage. but i guess she also was in a shock-and-awe state much like chukie. a little counting of blessings would have been nicer. or is there a bigger picture here?

and that's how survivor should be played! very brilliant move hatched by arnold and mara, they deserve to be in the top 3! and anyone else from the Old Bulan deserves to be there, they all know how to play the game. and for the Tala tribe... they can try PBB next time where they will be provided all the comfort they need. but with their whining attitudes, i doubt if they'll ever be contented with whatever comfort they're accorded with. GO GO GO BULAN!
