Epic Fail

It’s funny when you are trying to lose, you end up winning instead. You try to look and sound happy about it but you are not. Such was the case of this epi’s Immunity Challenge. More on that in a while...

The two imports gamely went to their respective camp and helped in shelter improvements and food gathering. They clearly missed their Survivor days and were savouring their brief stay. Like tribal elders, they shared their experiences with the two tribes, imparting words of wisdom regarding the social dynamics of the game. Jon told Tala how the game and attitude changed once the merge occurred. Aki related to Bulan how he kept switching alliances. KC was silently screaming “Stick to the alliance!” to his cohorts. It looked like Maey managed a nosebleed-free day, even with the addition of another “spokening English” dude in the camp. But she was still salivating over Akihiro. Cue slo-mo of Aki slathering himself with oil. Though KC found the day boring, he managed to have a tender moment with Gino when the latter decided to cook his facial hair. What could have prompted him to blow into a burning torch, anyway?

The entire challenge was quite entertaining. Not because the game was brilliantly designed (although it wasn’t bad). It was enjoyable to watch the two tribes have a go at trying to lose instead of the other way around. Jon looked capable of throwing a game, but Aki was too goody-goody to do that. He beat Jon twice and the former was none too pleased about that. KC & Arthur were prancing like they were stepping on a frying pan. They were taking too long to shoot the ball, leading Gino to comment that Carlo was intentionally losing. Arthur was like: Look who’s talking! Mara banged her head on the floor, it looked painful. KC pretended his head was a baseball against the bat that was the frame that held the numbers, so he had a good excuse to lose his 2nd round. As for John, his off shot went in against his wishes and he made a very lame “Yey.” gesture. Gino was successful at failing the first time ‘round but I can’t help but laugh at the last point. I’d expect Gino to be very good at being bad in the game, but as luck would have it, he gave the win to Bulan. His dismay at winning was so obvious that Jon made a note of it! Oh, the irony of it all.

Indeed, it was a funny episode! Kakaiba ito dahil ang mga tribes nagpapatalo! Hahaha And the excuses were incredible, these guys are creative! On a positive note, we're going to see how Tala would play the Tribal Council. Exciting!

hindi lang mga castaways ang nakakairita sa twitter, pati yung mga fans kuno na hindi naman alam kung pano laruin ang survivor, they view castaways na gumagamit ng strategy to sabotage someone as "bad and evil"! "dirty playing" daw! what the heck!...

kahit sa US version, may instances na nag "throw a challenge" na tactic. ang iba obvious katulad sa Survivor: China. Talagang tinago ang gear/puzzle pieces para di mabuo. meron din sa finale na lang inamin na nagpatalo sila.

is it good or bad? its survivor, gagawin mo ang pwede sa laro para maka outplay, outwit, and most importantly, outlast.

haven't watched the episode. pero ganon nga ang comment ni Gino kay Arthur, eh nakakatuwa. Its another classic example of "Hoy palayok. Ako si takore. Ang itim mo!" :))
