There was the expected sadness at the parting of the duo teams. I was expecting waterworks from Isabel & Chucky, but they managed to hold it in. Betong wasn’t so amazed at the situation. And when the new tribes went their respective ways, everyone was feeling each other out. This is what they discovered with each other:
1. Tala’s camp was neater, the shelter bigger.
2. Maey misses Arthur, until Arnold showed up. More rice, please, gotta maintain the abs.
3. Coconuts were a good consolation for Maey, as a replacement for Betong’s absence.
4. Carlo’s impression of Mara is she’s Mamabel-lite.
5. Tala’s clean camp was due to Isabel, the cleaning-machine. She has waged war with Bulan’s “kalat”.
6. Maey noted the sticky-eyes Mara & John threw at each other, giddy with the island love-team.
7. No “Amishu” was uttered between Arnie & Johnny.
8. KC was annoyed with the chickens, thinking them idiots.
9. The chickens think KC is a tyrant, giving them a quota on egg-laying. They tried to explain that stress will not help in production. And the conversation went like this: KC: “Eggs, eggs,eggs!” Chickens: “Cluck-cluck-cluck!”
For both camps, the newcomers were made welcome by the original inhabitants. Everything is going fine so far. No Mamabel-ish freak-out happening...yet. However cordial everyone is behaving, everybody’s playing the numbers game, anticipating decisions for future events. The Tala peeps are missing each other’s company & are loathe with the fact that they must compete against each other. As an ice-breaker, they were provided with a getting-to-know you Q&A exercise. Ever loyal to their tandem, Maey & Betong mentioned each other as the sexiest CA, even though Maey swoons over Arthur & Arnold during confessionals.
The last scene was the neck and neck situation in the irrigation Immunity Challenge. It’s now down to John & Carlo’s puzzle-solving skills as to which tribe will go to Tribal Council.
