So, Betong won.
Four votes from KC & the Tala juries did it. Stef, Mara, Betong and SurvivorPH made it to the worldwide trending on Twitter.
Here is a personal account on what happened last night at GMA Studio 7... The place was packed, really packed. Fans queued up early, the Top 3’s tribes came in droves and Castaways from Seasons past arrived with their families as well.
My mission: To personally hand over hand-made Survivor pendants to the top 4. As a Survivor fan, I love collecting artefacts and making trinkets that revolve around the show. I was hoping they’d like my little offering.
First target: KC. Even if I never got to see the top 3, I would have been happy just to see him. He was very gracious in accepting my humble gift. I told him, it’s not exactly 3M but I hoped it made him feel a teensy bit better. And I kept telling him how so many people were rooting for him, how we felt that he was the true Survivor, etc. He looked at me with a resigned look that said: “I know, I know.” It still hurts. Moments after, he was mobbed by other fans.
Luckily, Mara was seated close to the door so getting to her was easy. When I presented the Survivor pendant, she was genuinely happy, wanting a souvenir for the longest time. Mara told me she reads this blog & finds the posts amusing. I gotta give her props for keeping her cool despite the occasional bashing she got. She then introduced me to Mamabel, and I couldn’t help but gush: “I love, love, love you! Dotcomers love you!” She then related how well she did in the surveys and that lots of people wanted her back in Survivor. I was telling her she should and that’s when she told me she really suffered in the island; the cold was giving her pains. So another Survivor stint may not be in the works for her, but you’ll never know. Later on, she noticed that me and Dotcomer Tribo were wearing red shirts and asked: “You’re wearing red, is that for KC?” With a sheepish smile, I nodded in the affirmative. She nodded as well. It looked like she was cool with that.
Next, the lovely Stef glided over. I told her that after KC got voted off, she was my choice among three. She then became apologetic over the way KC was betrayed. Hey, what’s done is done. It was a game and she played it.
While waiting for Betong to appear, I spent the time chatting with castaways of seasons past. Nearly everyone I talked to (Jace & Marlon, in particular) was campaigning for an All Stars next season and they want in. They may have left Survivor but Survivor never quite left them.
Finally Betong appeared, like what was seen on TV, he’s a humble guy. Even though he works in showbiz, he’s not a big star and he doesn’t have big-star airs. It was very evident that many people present last night were rooting for him. The odds were obviously in his favour and when I mentioned his imminent victory, he was still very non-committal, not wanting to believe it until it’s finally revealed. I asked him what went through his head when he was offered a spot in Season 4. He said he didn’t hesitate in accepting because to join Survivor is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Before heading back in the studio for the live results, I entertained myself with watching Dotcomer Tribo wading among the celebs, hunting for castaway autographs. It was like watching a little kid let loose in a candy store.
Back in Studio 7, Retzard was explaining that in the event of a tie, a fire-making contest will determine the winner. People in our corner were fervently hoping for one. It would have been way fun to watch them dealing with the flints in their gowns & party suits!
Oh, well. It wasn’t a tie. As the castways gathered around a tearfully ecstatic Betong, I see Geneva gently patting KC’s back and I recalled the first day of Season 4, where KC was the one doing the consoling.
Amidst the celebration on the stage, KC quietly slipped out.

Very well covered, after all the bruhahas since day 1 up until the final TC, it still feels good to experience SP first hand, by meeting the CAs up close & personal, what has happened in the island should remain there, after all its just a game, the quitters showed up the finale (except for one bitter up until now), they've sober up and all kissed and made-up with the rest, but I won't bet they'll be friends for life after SP hehe
As for my bet KC, u are the clear winner for us, but sorry bro I wish we could do something for you but the tribe has spoken, there's still the all stars, and we are all wishing to see u redeem urself.
To Stef, you are my bet in the top three, u deserve to win because u survived the elements, the negative treatment around camp, u've proven your worth by fighting til the end, u handled the jury inquest well, beauty, brains and brawn :)

To Betong, it is such an Amazing win! You have to thank the stars (Tala) of your tribe if not for their numbers in the jury u wouldn't have won, but more importantly you remain humble and that made you the Sole Survivor.

I was waiting for Gma's action on the deceit that had happened...are we bound to tell our kids not to watch this channel since cheating was indeed tolerated...no words frm the management until the end...what a pitiful sight...
What was written was that SP consulted Survivor international and they were advised to continue. Of course continue, but that didnt mean there will be no corrective means. Ako prayer ko malipat sa ibang channel ang SP. Pero congrats Betong, at least hindi napunta kay Mara...

Di parin ako maka move on. After happened dayaan from the jury na hindi naman na dapat kasali pero nakikialam parin. Sa top 3 Betong is the least deserving xia pa ang nanalo dahil sa pandaraya ng JURY. I should have been KC wala ng iba. Sa mga Jury wag kayo mag papakita saken sasabuyan ko kayo ng asido sa mukha

Oh..so you guys were the ones who gave the pendant to our babe Mara! I saw she posted it on to her twitter acct. I think she likes and appreciate it so much. Though i wish she won but with the results i'm already proud seeing her in the top 3 and came up second to Betong. I think for her she is already a winner by landing on top 3 and meeting Arnie. :)
I have mixed feelings about this season of SP. Very interesting, with all the blindsides & Mamabel. Bad - bitter quitters, pakikialam ng jury. Sana may regular season muna bago yung All-Stars.

to survivor producer, please no more quitter. kung gusto mag quite dapat may amount penalty dapat nakalagay sa contract. para maiwasan ang nangyari sa servivor phil 2012 at para mas gumaganda ang next season. at sa jury dapat give penalty din.

Anyway, I just want to ask if there will be a reunion special. I haven't been here since the finale and I don't really watch tv a lot so I don't know if there will be a reunion special.
